Same goes for the NEW HAMS ......
I'm tired of hearing " They sound like CBers " HELLO ...... Most just came from CB .... Well let me chime in on being NEW ...
It in radio is called ELMERing .... Yep being a mentor to some new guy and using 45 years of being a HAM or TRUCKER to show him all the things that have allowed US to get past 60.
I can remember working late into the night to get a SCR-522 or ARC-5 WW2 radio to work on 2 meters also DEPENDING on the older HAMS many who fought in WW2 even FIXED them on some south sea island .
Do I remember how they treated a TEEN radio operator 30 or more years YOUNGER than them and how they molded myself and many others into the Hobby of HAM RADIO now pushing 5 decades ago YOU BET I DO !
THE SAME GOES FOR THAT NEW TRUCKER !
It never changes like any group with the proper MENTORING that annoying new guy will someday make the trucking industry proud .....
Why doesn't anyone talk on the radio anymore?

im am the newest breed and im one who wont do nothing to noone if they are acting stupid over the cb i will just turn to a different channel
its not gonna do you no good trying to get them back youll never win
if you start acting like your enemy what makes you any betterjosh.c and Mad Dog 20/20 Thank this. -
I for one don't worry about bear reports for speed too much except for when I'm on back roads. But, since I don't paid if I'm not rolling I don't like getting caught off guard by and over zealous DOT who wants to detain me for 30 or 40 minutes. I have tried to hollar at a driver because he had something wrong with his truck, couldn't get an answer, pulled up beside one and he wouldn't even look over.

I talk on the radio every chance i get..I have one in my car also..

The CB is a mixed bag. You get a lot of crap out there but then there are times where you run into a person who is really cool and you have a long conversation.
Especially if you going down the freeway in the middle of the night. You just got to pick and choose who and what your talking to and about.
But yes there are times that you just have to shut the #### thing off. LOL -
"Shut up stupid!" "Where you at, I'mma whoop your ###!" "I'm not wearing any panties" "Anyone looking for any commercial?" "Get the #### outta the way ########!" I could go on and on but I'm well more than sure we all know by now. That's why mine is off and stay's off. I'm to the point where I won't even bother to turn it on in a backup because of everyone walking all over each other and it's nothing but garbage. If I talk to someone I'm running with I take it to another channel. Some guy's really need to get their #### fixed to because it bleed's over big time. Mexican's are popular of the bleed over. I'm thinking about trying another band myself.
Don't know why I even bothered to buy a #### Galaxy 959 then have it tweeked, peaked and tuned with the addition of a Conex board and two K-40 20k watt coil's on an 18' coax.
Only time it's of any use anymore really other than some shipper's/ recievers is for the lazy ####### who is to lazy to get out of his truck to see where he is right before he get's ready to back into me. When no response, then the air horn get's a blow.Last edited: May 7, 2010

One thing that I hate about CB is when several people key up at once and all you hear is a screeching howl. That and how you can't squelch one to have only a good voice come thru as opposed to a bunch of static or faint voices. -
I don't like hearing a lot of the crap on the CB, but that is what the Squelch is for tune them out, then you can talk to the ones right near you to let them know they are clear or you are trying to pass. etc etc But, I think there are a certain number of wheel holders out there that just want to ride in there own little world and not be bothered with anyone else. I enjoy the CB and the truck stops because I get to BS with other drivers. Also, I don't get offended very easy, but there is a time and place for cussing but for the most part I think the CB isn't the place. I understand a little slip or added cuss every now and then but not every other word. JMHO

other day i was passing a swifty longnose, jerk was doing 62 while im doing 64, and would not be considerate enough to help me around him, so i put my turn signal on before i was past him to remind him im not trying to stay in the left all day. Starts yellin up a storm, "werner thats the stupidest thing i have ever seen you do!", etc etc.
but it gets better. i dropped my load in detroit and headed back, and passed him again a few hours later. I recognized the truck (how many black swift longnose peterbilts are there realllly?), so i did the same thing again..starts yelling again. HAHAHAHAHAHA. I wasn't enough of a ######## to tell him why i did it the second time....
The other day i went to the ambassador bridge, it was night and i needed to go to us customs to get a bond cancelled..could not find the entrance to us customs, it was dark and its not very obvious....so i asked on the cb...."its under the big ####### bridge #######"
F this job. Sick of being treated like #### by other drivers. F em all.
