Well thankfully mine doesn't bleed over. First guy I took it to didn't know what the hell he was doing so I took it to another guy that had been recommended and solved the problem including getting a few extra watt's out of the stock setup.
Why doesn't anyone talk on the radio anymore?

I've just recently started driving OTR, I've drove a lot of dump truck and Local flat straights. But always had a CB cause i loved the lingo and funny stories from the seasoned vets. Slip slide, eager beavers, pickles parks, theses guys were hilarious to listen to and talk to. I haven't been on the CB for a couple years, and just recently went to Movin On Electronics in Anna, Ohio to get my galaxy fixed. He said my receiver can was screwed and that he could try to fix it, but i opted to just get a new radio. It's been two weeks and I've traveled I69, I75, I94 among others and havent heard one word in two weeks. I just blew over three hundred bucks on a new radio in anticipation to listening to southern good ol boys talk smack with other drivers, and it just isn't there anymore.....plain sucks!

Well I aint about all the trash talk, but I will surely put the fire in the wire, while spinning the rubberbands, flatfootin it to the next stop. One thing I hated was when they came out with roger beebs, and that dang voice hollering " I got my night gown on, my pink panties on and I am going to bed" Hated it but other than that The CB is for me something to pass the time, good conversation on another station was my rule, wanna be a chatterbox move it off 19, I was taught 19 is for bear reports an drivers in trouble, and of course letting people know they have cleared your nose to come over, But I found most idiots who just slide in front of you leaving very little room, can not afford a CB and are just angry little men.

I still use a radio.. and glad some others do to.. was coming up I 65 north.. nasty wreck.. 2 big trucks and couple cars.. highway shut down for about 4 hours..asked how to get around it on the radio.. was told how..and didnt have to set like the 100's of other drivers..
a CB is still handy lil noise box.

CB is handy at road obstructions of all types until the idiot with the big radio dead keys everyone, plays music over the CB, whispers creepily that he lacks undergarments, starts a fight, complains about other races or women, preaches to everybody that their religious belief will send them hellbound or tries to sell or buy something including women at the truck stop. That's why mine is almost always off.

because i dont want to hear for 200 miles down the road how some dog in heat thinks some bimbo in a car is hot.It gets old after awhile, and very tiring.

There are still Truckers out there , we have a way of knowing one another. We strike p conversations and keep our radios on day and night. Biggest problem is that we are vastly outnumbered by Truck Drivers who have no idea or inclination what it means to be a Trucker. I honestly have no time for them unless they take the time to act as a Trucker. I pass a hundred Truck Drivers a day and see very few Truckers.
I think the reason for the question the OP asked is that Truckers are a dying breed and there just isn't that many around any more to make the radio buzz how it used to. But when you run across one it is still a great thing to strike up a conversation and act like a Trucker does. To show respect and abide by the rules of the road , showing courtesy and giving a wave. I still love being a Trucker and seeing the excitement of kids tearing out the front door pumping their arm up and down wanting that big horn pumped. Showing a 4 wheeler what it means to share the road and getting a nod from an old man walking down the street.
Nostalgia aside , I believe it is the lack of Truckers that is due for the lack of talking on the CB. Too many Truck Drivers that allow their world to be overrun and just cocoon themselves inside their trucks and listen to some guy tell them what they want to hear on the FM or Satellite. Cant be bothered to attempt to make this world out here a better place. Just doin my job hur dur. That Trucker stuff is dead and gone man , the new breed is here and we dont flash our lights and pick up a mic. We dont let people merge or kick off the cruise control. And most of all we don't talk on no dang CB. -
So, who cares what you think. I do over 175,000 miles a year and do not need a cb for entertainment. I let people merge, I move over, I get off cruise.
I do not use the cb because I despise the way it is. Don't even try to convince me I am not a trucker except maybe in your eyes. But then who cares.JimDriv3r Thanks this.
