I remember when they called it "Global Warming" and we were all supposed to be dead by now. Somehow when that failed they rebranded it "Climate Change" to keep it going. The temperatures I see in summer were the same as they were when I was a kid and I'm still freezing my bag off with -35°C temperatures every winter.

    Besides, plants need CO2.

The temperature in your vicinity is not the same as global average temperatures measured by scientific equipment over the course of years. Elevated CO2 still causes warming due to the greenhouse effect but they changed the term to better reflect the numerous downstream consequences. When you water the plants do you just turn the hose on and leave it on the plants all day? As it stands there's too much food to be consumed which is why the levels keep going up. The more CO2 in the atmosphere the more is absorbed by the ocean causing acidification which is also bleaching coral reefs which leads to less CO2 being pulled out of the atmosphere by sea life. It's a compounding issue.

So I live in a bubble I guess since my little corner hasn't experienced crazy temperature changes in the last 15 years.

Besides, nobody is going to give up their cars, their heated homes, their electronics and every other creature comfort.

I remember when we only got snow here in central Texas once every 15-20 years, and maybe 3 or 4 days of freezes scattered out from Oct to Mar. Now we get some snow almost every year and have at least a dozen days of freezing with many of them consecutively. In the summer there are still many triple digit temp records from the 1880’s on up to the 1980’s we haven’t even gotten close to tying or beating yet. When did they first start recording temps? The 1880’s I believe. That means there is a couple more thousand years of data missing to really know this so called science.

I've had a grown man tell me the moon and the sun can't be in the sky at the same time.

I've had a grown man tell me that ALL rivers flow south.

I've had a grown man argue that using a check cashing place that takes 5% is cheaper than having a bank account.

So, yeah, some kids are smarter and more worldly than some adults.

If liberals truly cared about reducing atmospheric CO2 levels then they would be supporting rather than opposing carbon capture & sequestration.

There are many problems with CCS - starting with it produces almost as much CO2 as it captures.

And that's IF we can scale the vaporware that is CCS tech. I call it vaporware because while the technology exists and is operating, for the most part it is being used to greenwash fossil fuel usage and is not scalable even with massive governmental funding. Long term, it might have potential.

Also, liberals aren't against CCS, they just think there are better uses for government funds. Supporting an effective mass transit system would be a far better use of tax dollars both in terms of the environment and gdp growth. Building solar panels over every Walmart parking lot would do more to reduce CO2 production than the most optimistic CCS projects with a smaller price tag.
