I get home every weekend and take home 600-800 a week. 2000-2600 a week or so. Most companies I've called offer less than that. People here will post "I make 1300 a week home a few nights a week home weekends" but REFUSE to post details and especially company names. I have to smirk every time
Why is anyone thinking home every weekend and it's a good a good thing?

There are jobs that will gross a driver $1400+ week and home several nights week, if not every night. I don't doubt they exist. But these are far and few between, and don't just happen along out of the blue. And if they were available to any/every driver who wanted one, then we would not be having this discussion. Plus, many of these "sweet gigs" have their own "issues" and special requirements or reduced benefits to deal with.

CEMEX hired some kids with 0 experience, but they were relatives of the management.
My super regional was the best, 0 hassle, on track for 100K year, and home on the weekend lol, and everyone can keep telling me how dumb I was. Had to buy my own medical, but the truck was mine, and I mean it really is 0 hassle.
But I see those stickers on trailers everywhere more money, more miles, more home time, sounds good to me lol.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
I have such a job, running flatbed to the oil patch. I'm home sometimes more than I am not, with short day runs. Other times I may be out for a week.
But to qualify for this job you need a minimum of two years experience, have your Hazmat and tanker endorsement, and be willing to be on call 24/7 when you are "on the board". You have to be able to run hard to get loads expedited to rigs and job sites that require off road skills in all weather and dirt road conditions.
I'm paid a percentage of revenue, so cutting my income means the company would cut their income. Rates have declined with the downturn in oil, but I still take home about $1000-1200 a week.
The company won't pay a lower percentage to hire newbies. Why risk getting 48000 lbs of Hazmat overturned in a ditch miles from the nearest paved road because some low paid wannabe didn't know how to ditch his steers to make the turn? Ain't gonna happen.Mtn Gal, Bob Dobalina and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
I'm fresh out of cdl school, landed a home everyday union job for a local grocery store, shifts will suck but I'm home everyday
