Many drivers get home on weekends and yes with starter companies and making adequate income.I would say OTR gets shafted the most. You Never no where youre going from one load to the next and how much you'll be sitting.I would rather be on a dedicated account. At least you'll know what your checks will be every week.

'Welcome to Maine. Open for Business.' - says the sign on I-95 North at exit 3. I chuckle every time.

That's two openings. One in the truck; one in the trailer.

There's only three ways to do it that I can see.
    1. Patience and time, because everyone will kick it over eventually.
    2. A Darwin award.
    3. The 9mm solution.
    As a disclaimer, I don't advocate #3... unless its bound to #2.

I been driving 9 months, I've been home every weekend since I started. Usually from Friday night till Monday morning and I'm usually home at least 1 night during the week. I bring home 800-1100 every week. I'm on track to make 65k my first year driving. Which is plenty of comfort for my family. Considering I was making it on 30000 a year before I started driving. We think we are rich now lol j/k. But it is great for my kids college fund.

Well what gets me about these guys, or like the Marten that went over the cliff (lol), how many fenders, and other things did they mack up before they finally did the calamity? Cause these guys aren't some 5 star drivers that suddenly commit a random giant blunder. It's all around bad driving behavior, that's the problem I have with mega's. Just like when somebody gets popped for a DUI, I think they average having driven several hundred times drunk before they are caught. It's the same with these shmo's. How much property damage have they driven away from before the " big one?"

Are you sure going from a tandem air ride condo sleeper to a single screw spring ride daycab pulling a liftgate trailer is a change you'd be ready to make?
