It's a twin screw. Air ride. Not by choice. And it's mostly at night.

That's nice. So you can dump the air bags when you drop a trailer?

No that option is too much $$$. In fact per company policy you must sit under the trailer for 30 seconds so your bags fill after you un couple. I think I'm the only one at our DC that actually does that.

This is no BS probably the most dangerous place I've ever worked. I mean I launched jets for years less than 50 feet away, full after burner, missiles, bombs, maybe strategic weapons on occasion, watched them land that close too, and I think this place is more dangerous, cause no one cares, it's sloppy. Guy came in with shower shoes on and worked as the yard dog. People don't wear their vests, seat belts in the yard. It's sloppy, so major stuff is bound to happen.

In 5 days -- 1) Line driver pulls away from dock, lumper & forklift spill out, and the lumper is F/U bad, maybe permantly, snapped femurs, severe head trauma.

    2) The next day line driver dumps fully loaded trailer in the main driveway. ( High hooked it ).

    3) 36 hours after that one of the guys that works for Schneider dumps another fully loaded trailer in driveway while being yard dog. ---- They said it was driver error, burned him, he's gone, but mysteriously, the yard tractor has been in the shop for a week now. I just can't help but wonder why, if it was driver error????

Tucker believe me, the second I can get on with another local, I'm gone. I'm not praying for my Dad's death so I can do my regional again. I hope he lives another 10 years. But the moment I can get the hell away from these guys, LOL, I'm gone.

Good points are my tractor isn't bad, but because its not, they are yard dogging it now when I'm not their, I can already tell the clutch is getting WHACKED, it has a good A/C, and its only 6 miles from the house.
    They pay is crap lol.

Sounds like you have been getting fleased in your trucking career. I ran otr all 48 seen snow amd ice and been to every state at least twice did I get into the wrong career NO that's just not for me I have kids is my reason but about the money side you were talking about. I was a company driver se regional home some nights through the week depending on loads and home every Fri thru Sunday or Monday depending on loads 800 to a 1000 bring home with four months experience. To being home every night in a company truck 800 to 1000, to now being an owner operator being home every night 1500 to 2500. I hate to see someone tell others what can't be done when it can be if you are giving the right advice and make the right moves. But don't get me wrong some drivers prefer to stay out but that's for them not for me and you can make money with all kind of various hometimes. Just my opinion

So life changed a little the last few weeks
Missed out on a few good opportunities due to being otr.
    Went back to dollar account.
    I know, I know.
But 3 loads a week now and home Friday night gets me $1200 a week.
Plus it keeps me closer to home where I'm needed.
Holy crap my back hurts today.
Did my first unload in 6 months.
3200 pieces plus 4 pallets in 4.5 hrs.
    Not bad.
    That load netted me $320.
Total time 9 hrs with drive time.
    Goodnight
