Why is chain TS diesel $1/gal MORE than svc plazas @ NY turnpike?

I get no discounts, and I fueled at the service plaza in New York last week. I guess I could have hit the Pilot and fueled, then got on TTR to beech about it.

Figured someone else would....

I was right.

I almost did post about the 6.09 fuel in PA, but I drove to OH and paid 4.66 instead.

Didn't get as many likes as a beeching post, but my wallet felt better.

 

Your post us the simple solution for owners and small fleets: GO WITH THE CHEAPER SOLUTION! Don't go to the big chains if you can help it! They ain't for everyone!

 

Just another reason why I go to the crappy old run down Mom & Pop outdated fuel stops .. Besides not having to deal with Ftards that rip your hood off or sit at the fuelislands for 2 hrs
I can buy fuel & Monsters cheaper and not have to deal with as many idiots

 

Hell yeah you can! I advocate for those truck stops. It's so many smaller chains or mom and pops that fall under the radar. If some drivers opened their eyes while going down the road they'd notice these diamonds in the rough. Just because one's company gets fuel there, don't mean he gotta sleep there

 

I like the little mom & pop fuel stops with 3 or 4 fuel pumps and 2 day roller dogs .. and only have room to park 5 or 6 trucks and you can get what to need inside while the fuel nozzle is shoved in your tank.. and cashier tells ya she's not charging you for the roller dog cause it was on the roller when she came to work 6 hrs ago.. and also suggest to you ... to think about jumping down on a back road the next town over cause the DOT has being hanging round there the last couple days

 

Did you verify that the price was correct? I’ve never really trusted the prices that are submitted by a user and not the company or TruckerPath.

 

Went down 283 to Lancaster, Pa this morning. Love's was 6.39 I think. Rutters across the road was 30 cents cheaper. And the food there is waaay better

Drivers for megas have to fuel at those stops because of the locked in price agreements with the large chains by their carrier. No advantage to a single truck operator to deal with them. Just use the small locations and check what discounts your fuel card provider has in that area.
