Why is country music stereotypically synonymous with trucking?

The past paved the way for the future. They're the most responsible than anyone for our woes today.

Truck stops, excuse me, "travel centers," shifted their focus away from truck drivers and now cater to the general traveling public. This includes their music selection (have you ever heard the BS they blare in the PFJ restrooms?).

    Somebody spent your inheritance?

Funny you bring up woes. I've never seen so many "woe is me" folks in one thread.

Y'all should all get together in one thread blaming everyone else for your problems.

Probably be post after post of "why me", and nary a one about solving those problems

What part of Arkansas are you talking about, I would spend a lot of time bass fishing in Hot Springs

Well, back in the 50's and 60', when you only had AM radio, most of the Clear Channel stations( WBAP, WWL,WLS, etc) had country western formats. Truck drivers could pick those up over long distances, especially at night. And a lot of them catered to truck drivers.
When you stopped at a roadside cafe, the little juke box (remember those?) at each table had mostly country music.
    Ah, nostalgia.

There is a pizza joint about 25 mins from me that is 100% unchanged from when my parents had their first date there almost 45 yrs ago. I love going there and supporting the place. Juke box still works!!
