I didn't mean to push it in that direction. I simply wanted to give truth. As was asked in the title. Cheers
I get 75% of the load, 100% of the FSC. Plates, insurance, ifta administered and paid by them. We get a good fuel discount, their card, also their trailers. I get all rate cons for the brokered stuff, the direct stuff we have pays real well. I can take or turn down any load no questions. I'm pretty happy.
I remember a long time ago making like $400 week as a trainee, and I still banked money. Have only ever had used Freightliners, and have missed 3 loads do to mechanical failure coming up on 7 years. I think many things are what you make of them. I know the people that have never worked at Landstar know a lot more about it than the people that do.
You don't even want to go to Landstar bro. You'll have a negative settlement before you even finish orientation.
I wasn't planning on going, I'm leased on somewere right now, told my self if I move its to go on my own. Enough jumping from the pot to the frying pan. My biggest frustration is we are pretty much still running for the same rates today as when fuel was 3 bucks a gallon. Sure fuel surcharge has gone up. Buy miniscule in comparison to fuel overhead
Yea there's like 50 threads on that subject, most feature the same 6 or 8 guys crying about the same things.
