Why is it sometimes impossible to shut the trailer doors on sloped ground?

it can be scary to a new driver that can't figure out how to open or close their doors. they'll think it's broken when all they have to do is move a couple of feet. thankfully my trainer told me about it when I first started

Yeah, understandable for a noobie but the problem is the OP claims to have over a million miles and he still doesn't get it.

I think you might actually be trying to honestly answer my question here. So I pressed the like button to commend you for trying. But your answer is still unsatisfactory to me.

I gotta go pick up a load now. So i cannot spend more time discussing this right now. But I will try to quickly right my objections.

I need you to explain this to me like I am a 5 year old.

I don't know exactly what you mean in the above quote.

My interpretation: The rear frame was manufactured so that the doors would fit in the trailer on flat ground. Duh. Yes, I know that. But that does not tell me exactly why the rear frame flexes on sloped ground but not flat ground.

The strength of gravity is the same either way; isn't it?

I don't think YOU get it at the level of physics I am trying to understand this at. That is why beg the question.

Put a steer tire of your truck into a hole and explain to me why your cab leans.

How come Ford's tailgate doesn't open on a slope?

The doors are part of the trailer structure. If you look at roll up doors the top corners have bracing in them that is why they don't rack like a trailer with barn doors. Final answer

    D.Tibbitt and AsphaltFarmer Thank this.

Does anyone else remember @IluvCATS? He was a TTR member who was notorious for starting these nonsensical threads just to stir the pot. I assume he was banned from the forum for his shenanigans.

I am starting to think expedite it is mr. Cats in disguise.
