I figured this is a electronical problem so I posted it here.
My Burton Lunch Box works like a champ in the car or the truck.
However when I plug it into a AC to DC adapter for the house it doesn't work. I have tried two different adapters. Are these adapters so weak that they just can't power the Burton Lunch Box?
Any suggestions to get it to work in the home?
Why is my Burton lunch box not working on AC Current?

It sounds like it would be the inverter is too weak, probably need to just read carefully what the requirements are to run the fridge and make sure the next inverter you get has that output. You may also check to see if they have a website that offers inverters specifically for their appliances.
rookietrucker Thanks this. -
You need to use an AC to DC adapter designed for cig. plug applications

Thanks for the input.
I just got the adapter today. I know the crock pots would be cheaper but I wanted to use the burton lunch box anywhere. Plus I have one of those little plug in coolers (keeps drinks 40 degees cooler than the outside temp) and I wanted to be able to run that as well for those nights I stay in a hotel. -
I could see where that would be useful for a cooler. I've had to throw food away before after a break down landed me in a hotel for a few days and no way to plug in my cooler.
But as for the Burton stove...dude, those things are throw away junk. I've never had one of those things last more than six months. At some point between month 1 and 6, it stops working. You tear it apart, and the wiring inside is burnt and brittle, so you rewire it and get another week out of it. Pretty soon you can't rewire it any more so you toss it out and buy a new one. And the cycle starts over again...
I did that until about 5 years ago, when I bought a regular 110 volt crock pot for ten bucks at Wal-mart. I plug it into a $29 400 watt inverter. I'm still using the same five year old crockpot, and inverter for that matter. You can cook exactly the same stuff that the Burton stove does. And, the ceramic pot is a LOT easier to clean, especially if you spray some Pam on it.
