That depends on the jurisdiction. Using my province of Alberta as an example, the Alberta Traffic Safety Act requires that all road users yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle that is operating its lights and siren. We are not the only one with this regulation.

We have the same wording to some extent. However, they still hold the driver of the rig to higher standards.

Just saw this on Facebook. Two rigs collided responding on the call.

    That makes sense.

Border cop was caught red handed trying to pin the blame on a civilian for running a red light to protect his own butt. I'm thinking not much else he will say in front of a judge or superiors will matter.

The driver of the border control van will probably face charges of filing a false police report.

Good, we don't need liars like that in positions of power over the public.

Truly, it is the main reason to have one. Do you really trust a 4 wheeler who cuts you off and claims you were tailgating?

We had a driver who was sleeping in a truckstop in Wyoming. The truck parked next to him destroyed the front end of the truck and just kept going. He was gone before the guy got dressed and got out. It was winter. Hit and run.

Agreed. I'm of the mindset that I want all sides under surveillance 24/7, otherwise know as the it the Liar Liar Pants On Fire truck protection plan.

I wonder if it's law that you have to produce the video right away. I think in this case, I'd sit on it for a few weeks. That way the border guy has lied to just about everybody he knows before the truth comes out, lol.

Had to be a fun call to be on.

There is no question that even emergency responders have to be cautious responding to a call as there are those who don't care because of the whole "I'm in a hurry" mentality.

Cant just blindly racing through intersections or making turns without knowing its safe to do so.

So sad when an emergency vehicle is involved in an accident itself while trying to save lives.

had some idiot cut me off yesterday and then jump on his brakes as if I can slow 70,000 lbs. down on a dime, so I bought a 4sight DashCam2 today. not taking any chances. one of the best investments a driver can make.
