Honestly, I find the clowns, Rambos, etc. quite entertaining. Sometimes the BS is really funny.

I have to agree. The road can be a lonely place, and while often times annoying, sometimes listening to the clowns can be as entertaining as listening to a morning radio show host, or one of the satellite comedy channels. Often times I find myself laughing out loud at some of what I hear on the CB.

According to some on here, you guys all need to stop living in the 1800's and get with the MODERN program. Thats why we have smartphones now. Remember?

Or how wet they may be.

I remember cruising thru Ohio once, heard a lady ask for the 'Strawberry Cowboy' (maybe @G13Tomcat's real handle?) and i thought she said 'Chloroform Cowboy'... I had to ask what kind of freaky #### she was into... make it a point to say, the wheels never stopped turning until PA.

I keep mine on and wide open when I'm in the truck. I only use it to alert traffic of a hazard (not law enforcement). I got it bc we use them at our terminals to communicate. there is a lot of bs...probably 95% of the CB traffic is bs to be honest, but I feel it's valuable for a brake check heads up or someone on the side of the road etc.

I personally do not have the patience for what CB radio has become. The hoodrat ignorant mentality that has become the norm aggravates me to no end.

I do not even carry a CB any more.

I drive alert and attentive enough that I do not need it. Been doing just fine with out one for years now.

I miss the old days when drivers showed respect and actually enjoyed many conversations, road tips, smokey alerts, traffic etc. Its a different world of truckers with CB's now. They can have it.

Besides, if your CB isn't on, by the time you get it fired up to yell at the a-hole who cut you off, or whatever, ti's just too late for that satisfied feeling.

Why no heads up for Johnny Law hiding in the median?

With all the Freightliners with "integral hidden antennas" and the rest running through lousy factory wire and diplexers, many can barely reach across the median with their radio, so they are of little use.
