My first chemical dispatch was 2nd shift at an acid plant [15.3 lbs/gal] and I watched a driver pull a pre-loaded tank over from the plant. he stopped and shook it up on the ramp into the shop bay, pulls up in and pops on the brakes, jumps out and grabs the mechanic and points his nose at the flat just as the wave hit the front and pushed the whole rig forward about a foot the locked tires leaving rubber on the concrete floor.
chem tankers are smooth bore for the same reason as milk tanks
