Unsealed Roads are a way of life down here..

 

Never see a farm tractor plowing a public road around here.......

are these rented for just the winter...,?

 

Same here. Only ever see the odd homeowner plow their driveways with tractors.

 

Once I move out of the city and onto a couple acres I want one of these more than a fancy plow with heated cab.

 

I would want both ........

 

no they dont work any farm work, just municipal things roadside lawn mowing and similar things

 

they are used because of their price and operators dont have work hours like truck/unimog drivers.
they have pretty limited amount of salt payload.
google for jcb fastrac, some sort of substitute for MB trac, it is only tractor that can carry some larger amount of salt.
also backhoes are used for this to help if trucks can access everywhere.

 

Most mowing around here is done by smaller farm tractors without a cab. They have ROPS bar only.....
