Sounds about right. My first truck was a 1977 Freightliner that I paid 47k for.
And it was loaded…..it had a am/fm eight track radio!
Why not doing your own repairs will make you go bankrupt.

How? How much fuel will I save doing my work. I understand this could matter to others. But how will it help me. Geez that's about my fuel budget for the year at 6-7mpg.
When we get to 14 mpg doing the same work. I will upgrade.singlescrewshaker, Rideandrepair, AModelCat and 4 others Thank this. -
Matter of fact, I've contemplated building another truck, replacement and using a BC, just because I grew up in them. Slobbery cold blooded hot rod would be way less economical than my series 60. But mathematically it doesn't change my bottom line much.

210k miles with everything working, it’s the shizz. Prior to that was 95 Cherokee straight 6, was the shizz, prior to that was 97 Corolla, was the ultra shizz. Can’t beat the comfort of cloth seats either
next daily car I’m looking for to rebuild is a Volvo 240Siinman, Rideandrepair and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Those old toyotas were great, only way to kill them was to run them out of oil. Everything would fall off and theyd still go rolling along.Siinman, Rideandrepair, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this.
