I actually did spring cleaning this weekend. I probably unloaded 50 pounds of tools and fittings and washers and bolts that I don’t think I will need or have multiples of. I’m the guy that will pick up every washer and bolt he finds laying on the ground. You never know when you need a 1/4 20 bolt or a M12 1.5. Or a stack of flat washers to make a spacer.
Why not doing your own repairs will make you go bankrupt.

Is there anything else you want to pick apart because I choose to drive a truck as a means to have a relatively truck-free time on my days off?Dadetrucking305, IH9300SBA, lester and 4 others Thank this. -
We run 4 trucks. I can personally do anything bumper to bumper on a mechanical truck, and have in the past. I have come to realize that although I can do a repair, sometimes I am money and time ahead to let somebody else fix it. I often just don’t have time and what time I have is better spent making money in the business while I let somebody else do the repair.
We still do our own tires and brakes, and any other repair that is a simple fix. Like a few weeks ago we had a turbo go down in a truck. Simple enough just to swap the turbo, but when we pulled it into the shop to do it, we discovered that the turbo going down had caused internal engine damage. We put it all back together and sent it out for repair.
We also carry spares and battery impacts to change a tire on the road. It’s mainly a time saver, you can wait hours sometimes for a roadside repair guy to come out.JoeyJunk, Dadetrucking305, Midwest Trucker and 3 others Thank this.
