I was drinking lots of beet root juice before I did my DOT physical to keep the bp down. I peed pink. Got a look from that. Lol.

 

Would not a saliva test or a hair follicle test put an end to such embarrassment and down right harassment. .I would start to worry a little if the person watching got a tape measure out though.

 

When my dad was with Nabors they had lots of "randoms" after getting back from days off Lol.

 

Piss on command I can not do, send me home, I'm of no use.

 

Perhaps however under current US DOT regulations neither are permitted for the DOT required drug screen. There is a proposed regulation being worked on to allow hair testing however it is getting a lotnof pushback from industry because of the potential for racial bias, the extended range of time it shows and the fact hair testing still does not show immediate impairment like urine can.

Blood testing would be most accurate but has been determined to be an invasive test, which I agree it is, so it is off the table. Saliva is a fair alternative but again not permissible under current HHS or DOT regulations.

 

Doesn't surprise me. One thing the patch doesn't play games with anymore is drugs. Especially high profile outfits like Nabors.

 

They know how capable their drivers are at screwing things up so they provided assistance ensure it’s done right.

 

Aren't they all invasive? I mean it's my blood, my hair, my pee. I'm not trying to start anything because I know why a drug test is needed. But that doesn't mean someone does it on the job.
