It is illegal to use a 2-way mirror or camera for observing a DOT urine specimen collection. The observe has to be in the same room and be of the same gender.

 

When I hired on with my present employer, there was another guy who was going through orientation with me who thought he was clever, brought a clean urine sample from home (not his urine, obviously). He didn’t bother warming it up, though, it was at room temperature (in December). They sent him back the next day, and of course he failed. I’m pretty sure they observed him that time. As our training director said, he failed both the drug test and the intelligence test!

 

Not being political but in the current climate how does anyone know what gender they are?

Or what they identify as?

Both the person watching and the one being watched...

Do you know how many genders are listed? I think sixty something... and does anyone even know what the opposite would be?

I know of drivers that have had their sampled "witnessed". Sometimes it's because their company watches most collections, or the driver has given possibly tainted or inconclusive samples, or looks/acts suspiciously. It's a few seconds, just pee in the cup. NOBODY is talking their way out of the test or changing the procedure.
