I'm going to hijack the hijack back to the original thread for a quick thought here.
I don't know where you find that at Denney's. I can tell you that the Denney's in St. George Utah, both of them, not only don't do this, they stopped the senior discount all together.
Their management explained, "You can now order cheaper, smaller portions right off the menu."
Personally, even though I am a well qualified senior, I just don't see this senior discount just because I am old. It is the same meal, prepared the same way, with the same portion, so it costs the restaurant the same, whether they are preparing it for a 20 something or a 90 something. So you don't eat as much now as you did fifty years ago? So what, they are not going to scrape the remains off your plate and put it on somebody else's plate. UH at least I HOPE THEY WON'T!
Why the Dislike of Denny's?

I hear ya on the wrists. I like 1911 .45's, but my wrist just won't stand the pressure any more. And I used to think that any man that couldn't carry a .45 should just stay at home and hide under the bed. But once I started getting a little older, I decided that I didn't mind people calling me a sissypuss. Because having a girl's gun with me was a lot better than having a .45 under the seat because it was too heavy, or because it hurt to shoot it.

Here's a SECRET for you... compact .45... not being a smart arse, just saying that I've owned several 1911 version .45s, and now love compact, large caliber pistols liek Ruger's P345 or my newest baby, a Kimber Solo Carry Stainless..

Downside is...still hurts like hell to shoot - using my left hand, since I'm still dealing with a trashed right wrist. -
That .44 took out a few deer in its time with me. Took it instead of the rifle on a few occasions. Oh...and one raccoon that had the misfortune of introducing itself to my left front tire of my old Dakota. Didn't kill it outright and I can't stand for an animal to suffer.

Yeah, I have that same discussion with people all the time when it comes to the .40 vs 9 debate. Everybody thinks that they have to go with the .40, but then ask them if they have any idea how many bad guys have been killed with the .38 over the years and they get real quiet.
I really think the best advice for anybody is to get something that feels good to carry, feels good in your hand, and that is cheap to shoot - so that you can become proficient with it. Like ironpony posted, a .22 in the right spot will work. A double-tap of Stingers or Mini-Mags in the throat or in an eye would be even better. When you have something cheap and pleasant to shoot so that you can practice a lot, you can accomplish that pretty easily. -
Right, and the Beretta 9mm was (and still is, in some cases) NATO's handgun of choice, lots of bad guys downed in close-quarters combat in the Middle East and South America.
I get a kick out of narrow-minded fools who think there's only one way - their way - to do anything, whether it's guns, trucks, life, beer, whatever.Injun Thanks this. -
Just pipe down and do it my way!

Aaahhhh, yes.....92F....
ironpony Thanks this. -
I've got the discount in WA, OR, CA, AZ, and MT. The one in MT told me the discount only applied after 4 PM (first time I had heard that) but gave it to me for my breakfast anyway. Maybe there are so many retired people in the St. George area they would go broke offering it there.Big Don Thanks this.
-
Aw, Don, it's because you look too young to get that discount.
-
Why thank you! Just for that I'LL buy the coffee if we ever get together!
