Well for everyone that says they love Otr, you can be out for weeks on end if you want with some of these LTL's. Old D, Estes, Holland, YRC, correct me if I'm wrong. Or you'll run for the week then go home. Depends on terminal, might want to ask. I rather live out of a hotel everyday. Plus it's usually an option to be gone not forced. Easier to get home too. Make great money. Not running the same lane. Most of the mid west and east coast terminals do this. Rather do Otr for .50-60cpm.

    Thank you

If only more truck drivers would do the same (ask and ponder) it would be soo much better for us all.

I thought LA would be fun and exciting...
I got there and no matter the time of day the roads wouldn't move, there's no truck stops or rest stops anywhere.. you actually have to drive far away to then pay to park and lastly DOT had random roadside inspections ON SIDE ROADS! Kid you not!
    No wonder everybody hates California.
and 55MPH throughout the state also.. well at least Prime trucks must feel at home there lol jk.

My first company if I pulled farm tractors in a drop deck van that I picked up at a port.. those loads always went to interesting places in the sticks.
Consignee's were always surprised to see me, even on the bills it said "flatbed".

It's getting to the point where I have the hills of I81 memorized and emotions of hate tagged along with it.
No matter where i go in the country all the Pilot/Flying Js are near exactly the same... all this sameness ahhhhh! That's the reason I wanted OTR to begin with, I didn't want sameness and now I have it.
    sucks

yep, thats why i dont get anyone that talks about the "freedom" of OTR driving. you go where the freight is, not on a joyride. the truckstops are all the same anymore, and i get sick of the stinky idiots that live out of their truck for months at a time.......

ltl for the win....its boring, but hey, if you want excitement, at least you have the money and time for it...

Holland, Inc,. is a recognized leader in next-day delivery, quality handling, and on-time performance in the LTL industry. Holland is hiring Class A CDL Regional (over the road) drivers at our Des Moines, IA terminal. Holland's regional drivers are generally dispatched out on Sunday or Monday evening and scheduled to return to home domiciled terminal on the following Saturday or Sunday.

That right there. Dispatch out Sunday and return Saturday.

How large of an outfit is Heding Truck Service? Do they go to all 48 states and, perhaps, Canada? What is both their starting and finishing pay? Is their pension plan a 401(K) plan?

How much experience is needed to drive for Heding Truck Service? Is a hazmat and tanker endorsement required? It sounds as though there are job applicants lined all the way up to Kalamazoo and Timbuktu.

not sure of their lanes. pay is 37.5 cpm, 10 dollars a stop, 10.80 after 2 hours demurrage, 10.80 for all line 4 time, 4 dollar meal reimbursement, 30 dollars cash every night you hit the sleeper.

they have a 401k, no match. BUT, they put in a decent chunk of change into central states pension fund.

iirc, you dont need any endorsements either. all dry van. excellent health and welfare benefits too, better than any other sleeper cab outfit ive seen......

Correct me if im wrong, Holland has had a pay freeze since 2009. Not, knocking the company, but their is more to the background.

Or am I thinking of a sister company ? the conglomerate confuses me, Disregard if the above info is wrong.
