TQL seems to place more emphasis on commission sales than CHR which forces prices down and makes brokers desperate. Also, I understand that CHR only hires college graduates, so their pool of talent is a little smarter, more relaxed, and less oriented toward street savvy con games than TQL people in MHO.
Ok big boy Thanks this. -
I think CHR plays the game better. They're tougher to crack IMO. They must look for college grads with some psychology in their education. If they don't they must be teaching it. The whole thing is a psy-op when they can't find trucks anyways. And it's amazing they will book trucks for so cheap even then. I can see through the smoke and mirrors though. Everyone's voice, reaction, and words betray them when something's on the line and they have a need. Everyone. I listen very close even if I sound disinterested because I do enjoy the game. Can't wait for the good ol days to returm.

I'm sure they will but who knows when? I read that contract gobbled up all the excess spot then you read about company drivers on here complain how slow it is too. But then there are people on contact claiming they're as busy as ever. Contradictory. ATA stories about the mythical driver shortage are starting to pop up lately. It's alegedly real bad right now and getting worse by the day. If that is true, at least from their business standpoint, then they can't cover the freight and more should seep out to the spot. But the economy is extremely weak and has been for years. I dunno driver I read the same BS you do that's just some of the info I've been trying to digest. Like said I'm confident at some point things will turn around but have no clue how long it will be.

The "driver shortage" is manufactured, a driver shortage is when you don't have enough trucks/drivers to cover loads.... but what's happening with most megas is they have a contract to buy so many trucks to keep their new truck rates, like my company, we have probably 100 trucks or better sitting, brand new. Yet freight is slow as ####. Then they holler "driver shortage!!!!" No you idiot, you bought too much equipment...

Yes they are taking them cheap. Just look around at some of the junk they are driving, not to mention the scruff that is driving them. It is unbelievable, and even more unbelievable they run coast to coast in this junk. If it were mine, I would get escorted to jail, the first scale I crossed.

Yeah it's gotten really bad. I'll manage a really good paying load a week, but it's a PITA. Last 2-3 months I had a lot of calls to go to Florida. I don't have anything there. But rates they're offering for that area are being hauled by someone. I ask for $5,000 from Midwest areas on about 1,500 miles to miami with reefers and they only want to pay $2,800-$3,200...sure it sounds good until your truck is sitting empty in Miami on s Friday deadheading for Monday to pick up a cheap load out of georgia or sc... But however people are hauling this junk.
