Hit up the megacarriers. A lot of folks aren't fans but it's not the worst place to start out.

 

Yea it is, it just might be the ONLY place right now.

There are hundreds of jobs for recent grads

 

20K drivers just got terminated from Yellow going out of business so I would think it might be a little more challenging right now.

 

At present, rates are low, loads are thin.
Small companies going under left and right.
Yellow just went belly up.
Demand for drivers is much closer to supply than it has been in years.
Experience will always get hired before noobs.
That said, jobs are definitely out there, you just have to hunt a bit harder and dance a little more to get in the game.
You’ll get lots of no responses…. Only need one yes response to get started.
Might not be your dream job, but it’ll get you started in the experience game, and you’ll be able to upgrade later as you get seat time.

 

Seek local for the time being. Concrete delivery, dump truck outfits, food service delivery. Most all these offer training.
