Find a different agent. You are not the one that is crazy.

I'm a car hauler, on my first year with a new cdl, new numbers and a new company out of FL, I paid 36k. 6k down payment and 3k a month.
Now I redid my insurance out of NY and its 14k. $2300 down and 1050ish a month.

I think my previous insurance agent screwed me for commission.

Do you think the change between FL and NY also had something to do it with? FL is notorious for high insurance premiums. Unfortunately, so is CA. I’m in the same boat as you about being new on everything except I’m going to haul freight.

    That's a nice pay raise, isn't it.

Much more money in your pocket instead of the insurance companies pocket.

Moving to NY definitely lowered the premium. I think it had more to do with the insurance agent. I think the previous broker put me down in the same category as a 10 car stinger truck. Current broker put me as a gooseneck auto hauler.
I also have a few clean level 1 inspections done during those 10 months and I passed with no issues. My credit went up a bit also. Also a platinum member with progressive and have multiple policies with them for many years. It all adds up.

Saving $2000 a month!!! I could have paid of the rest of my truck loan by now if I would have started with this price. I'll start 2021 debt free for sure.
