Why work for a small carrier? They are just rolling CSA 2010 targets!

I will only say the carrier is smaller, is being talked about in the bad companies forum, is having major financial problems, and its first name is contained in a James Taylor song.

I just read yet another synopsis of 2010 regs, this one in Overdrive magazine. I found their explanation the easiest to understand of all that I've read. They even have a flowchart that helps with the understanding of the upcoming rules.

That's exactly what it's about! And not a minute to soon, I'd say. I've read way too much bittiching and moaning about shiftless, worthless, dangerous, filthy drivers and "deliver the goods on time regardless of the cost in human carnage", "we'll fix the truck when we get around to it" carriers....and I've read most of it right here on the forum. Rant from this wannabe to be continued!

Sorry Saddletramp, your post was short and completely benign. I'm not, can't disagree with you. I just happened to be reading your post when my head exploded!!:biggrin_25514:

You may wish to obtain a CDL and gain some experience before you spout off that inaccurate assumption......

What does your experience and your CDL tell you? I have a CDL, it's only a Class B. I have zero experience in trucking. But, I learned how to read, research, evaluate and analyze through over 50 years of being willing to try to understand things, some of which I cannot touch, smell, hear or see.. I did all of that over those 50 years with neither a CDL nor trucking experience.
I know a lot about European History and our solar system, for example. I've never been to Europe, nor have I been in outer space.

Real world practical experience in trucking carries a tad bit more weight and credibility than what someone has read, researched, evaluated and analyzed on the interwebs........... So when you that Class A CDL and real world trucking experience you can then espouse your wisdom on trucking....

Unless you've actually worked for both large and small carriers your opinions are entirely subjective (and basically worthless)

But not until, right? Too late, I've been an espousing fool around here for well over 2000 posts. Nobody ever complained before. Well, not out-loud, anyway. Most have just scrolled on past my inane rantings. It's easy to do, and understandable. I'm gone....

Your CDL-A doesn't mean you know squat about business or enforcement. Stop pretending to be someone.
