    C’Mon man
We were on Bourbon and Pie and you swung a U Turn right in the middle of the highway

Gonna make dave wonder if a tree falls in the forest and no one around to hear it. Does it make noise?

That was one add I posted, I can post another carrier that pays 90% with an even lower cargo and liability but that wouldn't make a difference would it? You'll defend giving up a larger percentage of no matter what is posted here.

I've leased onto carriers both with their own contract freight and also high % carrier running off of load boards.
Ultimately I do better on my own off of load boards than when I depended on a carrier for loads.
Nobody will fight for the best rates like you for yourself and unfortunately have gotten burned in the past multiple times from carriers.

If you like to be dispatched hey that's cool for you.
This whole thread got derailed when the whole point was costs are too high now to be running around for $2 a mile. The numbers don't lie, costs are high now

It's too bad I've already been to town today.

Otherwise I'd make it a point to stop by the store for a Pie.

    Oh well.

Guess I'll have a bowl of clam chowder instead.

    :(

Again, for like the 3rd time now, what is the point of leasing on to someone and loading off the load boards and paying cargo and liability insurance? The whole point of leasing on is access to direct freight with stable rates when the spot market swings the other way. In 2019 everyone here was crying about rates and I was leased on pulling food grade pneumatic giving up 25% *gasp* and was making more to my truck than guys with their own trailer running the spot market.

And with contract freight there are no rates to fight for. The fuel surcharge fluctuates and that’s it. Stability is the whole point.

This reminds me of back in the day when we moved the wagons West for sum of dat gold

When it was falling out of people pockets and flowing down them rivers, well….. we all had it pretty good but once that dried up or slowed down. Don’t get me wrong. Still gold in them hills we mines back in the 1800’s but it’s hit and mis
    But anyway
    Back to me story
Once it slowed all them claim jumpers as we called them wanted to latch onto the big boys
Not all that glitters is gold
