Are you familiar with Drivers Central? I think they place drivers with Swift..I am not sure how much the tuition is though.

Well....Drivers Central, not sure where they are out of, here is their website http://drivers-central.com/state.cfm?state=Indiana Not sure what it means but on their webpage it states:
"Whether you currently have your CDL license with several years of driving experience, just graduated from trucking school, or are looking for a way to get into the transportation industry, Drivers Central can help you get a truck driver job.
Best of all, our services are provided free of charge for all drivers in Indiana. Apply now and take advantage of the services that Drivers Central provides." -

Yes, I bid my runs.. Bidding runs means I select the order in which I would like my runs based on seniority - I have enough to hold the same run 5 nights per week which takes some time here.. I do mid 400's per night here on the miles.. Whether I bid a 90 mile run or a 580 mile run it pays the same mileage and hourly rate - took one in the middle because I like it for the most part other than the I95 traffic..
Am I a dockworker or a driver?? Not sure and I question that at times but I suppose since I'm a line-haul loser here I guess I'm both.. I do suppose you're right though - at .555 per mile and 23.55 and hour I'm surely am part of the problem - the nerve of someone to drive for such a measly rate down the highway while getting paid hourly for free things like fuel and traffic is sickening isn't it..lol..
After 7 years here I've concluded one major thing - if something ever happened to this job I would run faster from this industry than Usain Bolt..lol..
Someone who "claims" 10 years of driving should know much better though right??? -

Hmm... I see a little bit of hate here... Well, I got turned down by the local Wendy's. I've put in applications everywhere in this podunk town. Nothing. I'm 24 and have next to no work experience in anything.
I guess you could say I'm a displaced homemaker as I was supported by my dad until he died. I'm living with my sister, getting food stamps. I'm so desperate that I applied for disability. If WIA can give me $2500 for my school of choice, then I'll be off their back. I won't need the food stamps and I won't need the disability. I can also start paying the government back their student loans and my tax dollars will go to the Pell grants that I received in college.
Sounds like a win-win to me. -
Thanks the WIA program in my state, I'm starting my program very soon, can't wait to get started, I'm looking forward to having a skill.
