    Oh my lord. Are they serious? 2 lane to 1 lane for a YEAR?!

    224 mile detour for wide loads?! Oh wow who thought this through.

    That 224 miles is an error. It's only 67 miles as later stated.

    Still sucks though if you're over 12 ft. Not a very friendly road for wide loads with oncoming traffic. Thankfully it's not heavily traveled unless nevada washes out again.

    It was a 3 year project that didn't wrap up till 2 years ago. Now they're doing a 1 year project.

    Especially when you meet up with another oversize doing the same detour from the opposite direction.

    Man, this project was just done......... about 10yrs ago. Remember the hassle of this. Everyone needs to practice patience as traffic thru the gorge is gonna be a challenge.

    10yrs ago is a long time, especially with the increase in traffic that the gorge has experienced. I'm all for bridge maintenance and I don't care how often they do it. I've been over some that I hold my breath until they're in my mirrors.

    The detour is 224 miles in length, 67 miles longer than the i15 route. At least, that's what the article is saying.
