Oh my lord. Are they serious? 2 lane to 1 lane for a YEAR?!
224 mile detour for wide loads?! Oh wow who thought this through.YeaImRJ, Flat Earth Trucker and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
224 mile detour?? They should be paying for the drivers fuel for that nonsense
-
That 224 miles is an error. It's only 67 miles as later stated.
Still sucks though if you're over 12 ft. Not a very friendly road for wide loads with oncoming traffic. Thankfully it's not heavily traveled unless nevada washes out again.
It was a 3 year project that didn't wrap up till 2 years ago. Now they're doing a 1 year project.Dave_in_AZ, D.Tibbitt and Oxbow Thank this. -

Man, this project was just done......... about 10yrs ago. Remember the hassle of this. Everyone needs to practice patience as traffic thru the gorge is gonna be a challenge.
-
10yrs ago is a long time, especially with the increase in traffic that the gorge has experienced. I'm all for bridge maintenance and I don't care how often they do it. I've been over some that I hold my breath until they're in my mirrors. -
