I wish my wife, who is a former driver btw, was interested/involved as much as you are... I hope your husband see's this and realizes he has a good wife, that cares about him and his career. I know my wife cares but, lol,,she don't get involved like this. Guy's simply want to be appreciated for what they do and you seem to have that down. I am confident you all will be good to go in short time. God Bless

Triumph That is awesome financial advice. It will be very hard to do once the vehicle is payed off. Anybody will want to spend that 'payment' elsewhere. The dividends that your car payment program pays in the end will be more than worth the effort.

RobynByrd We all go through very trying times. Just keep your noses to the stone and it will all work out in the end. For me when I get home I need an adjustment period. It might be only a few minutes or a couple of hours or more depending on how long I have been gone. My long time girlfriend speaks to me and then drifts into the background. Also it is an adjustment period for both her and I. I am interrupting her life when I come home because she has adjusted to my absence and I "drop in" on her. That first period of time back together is crucial in how it goes later. IMO. He needs to realize and accept that there will be hard times also. If he doesn't appreciate you he needs to get with the program because it sounds like you are trying to do an awesome job. Just hang in there.

It is extremely easy to get a local gig hauling seasonal agriculture products, those are temporary seasonal jobs but often turn in to full time employment if you prove yourself. My first trucking job was a home every night union job after I proved myself by hauling grapes 7 days a week for that company. Maybe a temporary relocation out west is in the cards; they're stating tomato and grape season soon in the Central Valley

My wife reides with me so its a bit different than your situation. When she wasnt with me though what I enjoyed the most was taking first two days to ourselves. You know husband and wife stuff. We also would just spend tile curled up on the couch watching netflix, but we dont have kids.

If I was your husband, and this is just me, but when I get home I dont want to hear about bills, kids etc. Unless ots emergency. I would want my wife not to tell family im coming home till I had time to get reaquainted. I would want to go fishing or just watch a ball game on tv. Massage is good. Kids at sitter. Nice dinner etc. Listen to me complain lol. Etc. U know your man better than we do. I would just love the suprise of coming home to comfort and kids at sitter. All I would want is to show you are thinking of me. Good luck.

Sweetie, I'm not gonna make any friends saying this... but you need to get real. You married the man, not the paycheck.

If he wants to work local do what you have to and get your man home and working local. Set up a budget. Clip coupons. Turn the a/c down. Combine trips to save gas. Stop with the improvement projects. Cut corners. Be frugal.

If tomorrow all the bills came due and you were broke, the sun would still rise. But if your hubby was no longer with you, I think you'd miss him way more than the money. Priorities, sister.

I know you posted this a few months ago but I figured I'd chime in. My wife does all the things you've mentioned but she also does some other things as well. She will put a note in my bag when I'm not looking so that I'll find it a few days later, or send me a link to a cool website that she thinks I'll like. She also sends me pics of home, maybe a new plant that has just come up or something cool the kids or dogs have done. We as men, at least for the most part, want to know that we are in your thoughts as much as you are in ours.
Also try not to complain about the things he can't do anything about. I Want to fix every problem my wife has and it honestly bothers me when I can't because I'm not there....
    Just my 2 pennys worth

The one thing I've ALWAYS said during my 26 yrs as a driver... and it rings so very true , and even MORE today....

IT TAKES A SPECIAL KIND OF WOMAN TO BE MARRIED TO A TRUCK DRIVER.

If your husband already has that , and it seems he does , your battle is mostly won.

Support , love , tenderness , understanding, and an ear to let him vent his frustrations about all the things that build stress on a daily basis is the best gift you can give him.
