AMEN, You hit the nail on the head. It is very hard for a married couple to deal with this type of lifestyle. I have often told people that trucking and family life is 2 different worlds, and you cant have both at the same time. But good luck anyway. Oh and in choosing a company, I highly recomend flatbedding! For this reason:Not so much sitting around and waiting, they usually get you in, unloaded, and back out. I've pulled reefers and vans and set as high as 3 days waiting on a trailor to come out. Another thing to, In my opinion your better off with a small company, far less appt to leave you sitting for very long.

First i what to say thank you for having this site. Our family is all new to this over the road truck driving. My husband is in his first week with his trainer. So far so good. the kids are starting to miss him but he hopes to get to come home for the weekend. His trainer has a dedicated route right past our home town. Any advise for a new truckers wife and kids is greatly appreciated
