PMed you a link. But I don't want to post any since I don't want to give my "offical" approval for lack of a better word.

I'm with Verizon, and use my IPhone as a hotspot. When I'm on a call, my hotspot stops (no internet browsing while on the phone)

But in response to the OP, another solution is to pay for another number/device (about $10/month, plus device cost). They can share the data plan, and you can then use the other device for hotspot.

    DsquareD Thanks this.

    Huh?
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SVDO

Really doesn't matter to me why. It just works.
Besides don't see much 3g anymore anyway.
Also it's one of my requirements for parking. LTE Data.
If I wanted 3g there are cheaper Carriers I can go with.

Verizon sends me text messages when I hit 75% and 90% usage. I have not gone over yet. If I do then it's $15 for another gigabyte.

I would love unlimited. Not sure what the cost would be. I'll have to check that eBay thing.

Some phones have to switch back to older tech to make a phonecall. Some will comunicate on older tech while still using data. Some will use VoLTE (Voice over LTE.) Sprint and Verizon tend to use different models of the same phone due to frequencies they run on. So while it might work one way on verizon it will be different on Sprint. (T-mobile and ATT use very different technoligy up to LTE.)

Its a pretty big cluster all around to be honest.

    In one year?
    That's only 125 gig/month on average.

Yep. But compare that to verizon standard rate. Plus I'm a Canadian driver so I only spend about 60% of my time in the US.
