WPA2 is also pretty easy to back door as well. No special l33t hacker skillz needed,.. there are apps and software that do everything for you. From scanning and locating targets, to running man in the middle exploits and rooting the host.

Wifi in and of itself as well as blutooth are very insecure. In order for them to work the way they are designed they can not be totally 100% secure,. the protocols wouldnt work if they did. The smartest is encryption but even that is mainly a deterrent to someone determined to get in.

No programs running. Like I've said, my laptop is OFF and I'm watching the hotspot screen and data going up with no connections. A WIFI does not go to sleep even though nobody is connected. It still has to communicate with cell towers and you are being charged for that.

Are you certain its its wifi data from an external source and not just some 3rd party app on your phone?

Here's an easy hack for you all.

If you have a hotspot like me you can name it to "FlyingJ 5" so it shows up with all the other FlyingJ connections. Go into your hotspot and direct any new connections to your laptop location like file:///C:/Steve/Webpage/index.html

Now create your new main web page called index.html. Bring up Flying J's wifi connection web page and right click on all the images and save them to your local disk and use them to create your own web page to look like Flying J's.

Every time someone connects they will get your web page. Now collect user names and passwords. Easy as that.

Now go to Starbucks and do the same thing and park your car close by and offer up your WIFI. When someone connects do whatever they want. Just let their requests go through and hope one person makes a request to check their checking account on Bank of America. Now jump into action and put up YOUR web page and get their username and password. After you get it just tell them they made mistake on their password and pass them off to the real Bank of America webpage.

What most people don't realize is when they bring up YOUR Bank of America web page they won't see the lock on the address bar indicating it's a secure connection. Bad mistake.

You can also do this same stuff with cell phones. Put up a Google page saying they need to log in. Most won't give it a second thought. Now you have access to the cloud. This is how most of those naked pics show up.

I also have a years subscription to Flying J/Pilot web access. I use that when I'm doing something big like updating my GPS map or downloading something large. When I first park I log into Flying J and check the performance. If it's good I stay on. If not I use my Spring hotspot. Even if the connection is slow I'll use it while I sleep to download something large if needed.

How many phones are on your account?

If just you then its an issue you need to take up with Sprint.

I personally dont like Sprint. When I asked for my account to be closed they held it open and got me for another 30 days. I have other reasons I dont like Sprint as well,.. but thats just one of them.

i'd look into cancelling if possible.

i turned a old phone back on with sprint. did the no contract no credit check thing. with taxes my total bill is $67 per month for unlimited internet. rooted the phone and paid for a hotspot app that requires root. unlimited mobile hotspot.

i pay verizon $150 per month for 6 gigs. it's almost not worth sticking with verizon anymore.

i tried a few other well known apps. they're rigged now to see that you have to have a paid subscription for hotspot.
