Hey Hunterdog,
I've worked for central and was actually researching wil-trans also. Central was a pretty decent company however they have gone the way of mega-company. They have considerably cut the governors down on their trks
(62mph I believe) and have started to back charge the drivers for over idle. Not that this is a bad thing, but a lot of drivers dont like it. They have also just implemented the paperless log. However, all that being said in the five years we were there, even when they had just started, we were never short miles. If you mind your p's and q's and are a yes sir/maam person you can make good money at central. A good company man gets a lot of recognition a central. Beware of lease program! If for any reason you arent making it, you will be done for good with central. Ten months of constant breakdowns did it for us, and they will absolutely not let you out of a lease. Work as a company driver for at least six months and find your niche before even considering lease. As for wil-trans they sound like a good company, but then again they all do! I have not worked for them though, so I will let you do your own research. -
Does prime own central?
-
No, but the same person that owns central owns a majority of the shares at swift. Swift/public company Central/private company

Swift is a priviate company also. Gerry bought back about 2 years ago.

Will-Trans seem to be good at frist. but then the dispatcher started to lie to me cut my miles down and finally I had to get away. it was a terrable experiance.. And I've been oullinf reefers for over 30yrs
