I’m 18 which is my biggest reason in not finding a Cdla truck driving job. I’ve asked Chinatown on advice and I’m waiting on it but for now anybody know any companies hiring 18 year old around Wilkes barre pa or what should I do.( my dream is truck driving even if all I could do is local right now)

Warehouse to Driver Program | Drive for Dot | Dot Transportation, …
How does the Warehouse to Driver Program work?
You will start working in one of our 12 warehouses across the country. For six to 12 months, you will learn the in’s and out’s of Dot’s warehouses, business model, and values. After those six to 12 months are up, you will start attending a Dot-approved driving school to get your Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
While you are in driving school, you will continue to work reduced hours in the warehouse. Once you have obtained your CDL, you will transition into becoming a full-time Dot driver.
What if I am not 21 years old yet?
That’s okay! You can still go through our Warehouse to Driver Program, similar to the way anyone else would. The difference is that after you get your CDL and complete DTI training, you will drive within your state until you are 21. At that point, you will be legally allowed to drive a commercial vehicle across state lines.*
*The program may have slight variances depending on the location. Please reach out to the distribution center nearest you for more information.
Emmanuel823 and rollin coal Thank this. -
You already have a cdl, but I'd still apply as a driver trainee or a yard jockey at DOT Transportation

Saw the post but didn't know they had anything in PA. That'd be a great opportunity for an 18 year old that wanted to drive trucks. Top pay and solid benefits too.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Don't just reach out, submit an application, then reach out.

The US Army has a program. I think it’s called 88M. They will let you drive a truck. The Marines has a similar program, but it comes with workplace violence.
Ruthless, Sirscrapntruckalot and Numb Thank this. -
Pitt-Ohio also has a dock-to-driver program in Hazelton.
18 yrs. old.

Thank you I’m checking out everything. So the dock to driver programs start you out in there warehouse/dock then give you a cdl after time and/or move you up to a driver. Pitt Ohio seems interesting.
Chinatown Thanks this.
