Will a 10+ year (past) diagnosis of depression disqualify me.

I'm looking around at different companies. I'm wondering if an old depression diagnosis will cause me issues with my CDL. I actually got bounced around through several diagnosis. They couldn't get it right. I think mental health can SOMETIMES be quackery. I haven't been treated for ten years. My real diagnosis was: had a child with a pedophile. Devestating, for sure. In any case, Karen is crazy is lurking in my past somewhere. Just to be clear, I WILL drive, be it a taxi, rideshare, truck. I really enjoy it. I'm patient and hardworking. Doing my rideshare, I can descalate even drunkards and keep the most obstinate customers happy. I've never had a hostile encounter even being a woman who drives drunk people. I can handle my roadways and have a great customer service attitude. But...I might be crazy. Yet another lingering gift from a pedophile husband. My last treatment was 10 years ago. I've maintained steady employment since that time and as far as I'm concerned, my family court judge screamed my competency as far as employability. I will invoke his good name, if need be. Will a company do a medical screening prior to arrival at orientation? I don't want to walk of shame out of there. If I'm in for a knock down drag out fight, I might as well stay home and do it from here.

I suppose I can write something like that in the comments section: last treatment 2008. Court ordered financial obligations to my child based on two jobs because of employment competency. Mom: 2 jobs income. Dad: 0.

Let me share this example related to medical requirement ( i don't know about the
kids and jobs and spouses )

Say you were being treated for one of the many common malady's known to man
You dropped the extra 97 pounds , started eating healthy
and every thing returned to normal ( blood sugars , pressure , etc ) The medicine was
stopped by your physician at some point .
As long as you have been OFF the Meds for 2 years your in the clear .
Its no longer considered a condition

Its right in the DOT Medical Standards handbook

    Good luck

Quit bummin' out, and get truckin'! You won't have time to bum out.(except on those pesky layovers around Xmas) Just think of all the new adventures that await you, your past will sink like a stone. And for the record, most truckers, male or female, usually have , shall I say, a less than stellar past. That's why we're truckers, to get away from that. Good luck, you'll be fine.

Why would you do that, knowing it will sabotage your job application?

There's an old saying in any interview or interrogation. Tell them what they want to hear, and for heavens sake, don't babble on.

Don't answer questions nobody is asking. Also don't answer questions if they cannot verify the answers.

Answer the questions on the application saying no more than required. Do not volunteer any other info. Anything like your former medical condition is relevant and none of their business.

    Put that away. The past.

No medicines for a few years. Good. There is no problem.

The rest of it is called baggage. Put it in a box and forget it. It's over, done. Ancient history. God knows I had problems, but I got it fixed. It's no longer a problem. Constantly hammering on this or that is not going to help yourself or anyone. If it's so bad, get out of it. Move to another state or something. Don't be stupid and constantly wallow in the mud of the previous past problems and say you like it being rained on. That's self abuse.

DOT medical does not know what you aint tell them. Take the form, run top to bottom no no and no and no to everything. MAKE them try and find something wrong with you. (Chances are they wont.) Driving is not that difficult. Unless you make it out to be. I bet you rather not.

    Get going, yer late.
