I found a portable a/c unit from HD, for 250 bucks. Since the company I work for has a crappy idle policy I have no choice, either buy one of these or pay the price for them.

    Power Supply 115V / 60 Hz / 1 Phase
    Power Consumption: Dehumidifying 250 watts
    Power Consumption: Cooling 240 watts
    Cooling Capacity 1,000 BTUs
    Refrigerant R410A
    Dehumidification 25 pints / 24 hrs.
    Levels of Dehumidification: 2 Levels
    Fan Speeds 2 speeds
    Water Tank Capacity 13 pints
    Operating Temperature 41°F - 95°F
    Dimensions 14"W x 23"H x

My 2000 watt inverter handled a fairly large fridge with 700w steady and 1400w peak, and a microwave with 700/1100, plus charging phones off a house charger.... with your 250w pull, shouldn't be an issue at all.

Until your batteries start to lose juice and you have to idle to recharge!

yes the inverter will carry it, but how long will your batteries last, and 1000 btus of cooling is darn near nothing, most APU's that only claim to cool the bunk area are around 13 to 15,000 btus cooling, so you will have less than 1/10th of that!

They have a 10% idle policy and max is 25% but Phoenix AZ gets more, everyone with a brain knows FL heat is much more due to humidity. FTW, This is my only issue with my company, (idle policy) not that the trucks are slow 61, but I prefer to be comfortable at night and sleep well instead of sweat myself to sleep.

    no apu's?

I know what you mean I live in Georgia and it's bad here, but Florida is worse from what I remember from my time there.
