Not likely. More likely worn shocks, out of balance wheel or drum. Mismounting is a possibility too.
-
yes.
the outside will wear imto a roller coaster.
i had a 05 w9 that did just that, and vibrated and the same speeds.
i also had bad kingpins. -
I have ran them for 22 years and seems they all do it to some extent some way worse than others , I had a wheel crack a few months ago and the new valve stem is machined in the face of wheel im sure yours is on the inside but I put centermatics on mine since I can now that valve stem is not in the way if it was me I would align it check all front end parts then leave tires on the same position and flip them on the rim , I know some of the super singles are out of round a friend of mine had them surfaced on the truck to make them round again sorta give them a hair cut is what the shop told him but he said after that was done they was smooth as glass till they were wore out ,hope this helps also they make different powder and bead balancing products personally they help but some times not .

yes I do have them swapped from side to side but man 900 each is bad.. I want this thing fixed..when I got the truck I didn't have this problem but now I will admit I never had it aligned ....and I just had the back stabilizer bars rebushed and plan to do the walking beams and have the frontend rebuild and then do a alignment cause the bounce is just out of control when loaded..like riding on a horse...
-
I hear ya on the price I just bought 2 bfgoodrich for mine 755 a piece mounted what kind are you running?

toyo tires... I had 2 wheels crack and replaced them but I never really did a lot of to the front end I had the spring hangers and bushing replaced last year with the bronze bushing and I keep everything greased at lease every other week.. but I guess the king pins can still good out.. had them replaced about 7 yrs ago and I know a dump is hard on parts in and out of all kinda places....I replaced all the shocks on the truck early this year front and back...ill take it somewhere and have the alignment checked and the parts and go from there cause I really need this truck to ride better then it does like before... its really hard on you now .......how could I check the leaf springs????? also if someone has had a 6 wheel alignment whats the going rate?????
-
the leaf springs won't do anything for you. unless they are sagging. shocks are what control the bounce. leaf springs. just look at them. see if they're cracked. all they are, is suspension. keeping the frame off the other parts.
you'd have to find out the ride height specs to measure the springs for wear. worn springs will cause the truck to sit lower. but that's not anywhere near an issue as shocks. -
For the record toe in is very easy to check and two people can do it. Spec is 1/32 to 3/32. Measure from the middle rib of one tire to the other middle rib. The difference between the two measurements is your toe in or out. Sounds like you may have some toe out if the outside of your tires are wearing.
04 LowMax Thanks this. -
