OK ,this is pretty basic. You didn't receive any citations. Other driver probably did. NO Ticket= NO ACCIDENT. IF they did screw up and mistakenly write it up as your fault. There would be no ticket(signed by you) to support it. Noticket= No Accident
Will an accident that wasn't my fault affect future employment opportunities?

I had a pretty bad accident my third month into driving. I was not at fault, nor was I cited. On all my applications going forward I would add the accident and would note where possible that I was not ticketed nor at fault. It has not in any way stopped me from getting a new job. Good luck!!

Also forgot to mention to OP. About 1 1/2 years ago a construction clean up guy (pulling a short flatbed full of scrap material, tools, etc. fell asleep and ran into the back of me( I was in a straight truck at the time) any way I was going 65 mph down I-70 In Ks he was doing at least 75. Hit me so hard bent my liftgate platform down, then raked down drivers side of me,mangled my drivers rear wheel, tore my mirror off ,bent my fuel tank and step board down. Then debris (a concrete auger bit) hit my windshield(stuff scattered for 3 blocks down the highway. He was heavily ticketed (for excess and loose dunnage). I was free to go(ride with the tow truck driver an hour back) Got a fresh DMV abstract printout last month nothing onthere at all about this.
