I recently graduated from an accredited truck driving academy in Orange County, California. I graduated Top Driver of my class and have got all of my endorsements. I have been applying like crazy and have been turned down by almost everyone because I have a marijuana possession charge from 2009. Other than that, my record is clear. Is there anyone that will hire me?
Will anyone hire me with a simple possession chare that is 4 years old?

Maybe, some companies give drivers a break, all you can do is apply:
Do online applications with all these companies and maybe one will give you a chance. Others have been hired with much worse records than yours. Someone posted recently that one of these companies recently hired a guy from Los Angeles that was fresh out of prison & completed a CDL school.
Apply with all of them and wait.

Chinatown is right.....MAYBE some one will hire you. Only thing is , You need to understand that there are other applicants going after those jobs that have clean MVR's... AND don't have a criminal background. You may have to wait for a few years or its entirely possible that you may not be hire-able. It will depend on the company's insurance carrier most of the time...hire-able and insurable are often different things.

Try Gardner in Chino. They have a reputation for a liberal hiring policy. Otherwise start asking/looking around smaller companies. You may have to pay some dues, but it can be done.

Some companies that are more liberal or bend their own hiring rules, are either self-insured or self-insured up to a high dollar amount. The big mega carriers with many thousands of trucks, have so many applicants & such a high turnover, it seems they don't fool with many applications that require much additional time.

You should be able to find a smaller carrier, forget the mega carriers they will not mess with you with a drug charge! Keep your head up & stay clean !

You could also try this. Find a company that is close/not too far from you. Then instead of phoning first, or applying online, drive directly to the recruiting office during business hours and speak with them face to face. That will show them how serious you are, and you'll stand out from just being a number. Sure it's a lot more trouble on your part, but considering the situation you need to go the extra mile.
Western Express is known for giving drivers a chance.

It never ceases to amaze me how many go to school with a charge then get nervous after school because noone will hire them.Brandon, was'nt there any recruiters at your school?

Put yourself in the shoes of the person across the desk doing an interview ... will he/she see someone they feel good about? Does the person sitting across from them present a professional appearance and seem like he does NOT potentially have drug issues today? Would you be proud to have your son or daughter be married to that person? The possession charge in and of itself may or may not disqualify you, depending on the carrier, but your appearance and self-presentation and qualifications can do more to get you a job or keep you from a job then your record.

and when the time comes. MAKE SURE you apply for expungement and get that possession off your criminal background.
