As you can see, there are some of the "bad" companies on there, but there are probably some pretty good places, as well.
Will companies even accept applications before I finish school?

34 listed....refer back to "bigger they are..........comment. I for one admire and respect when a person is trying to help another with obtaining a trade BUT a student recommending those to a man that hasnt even got to school? Like Oldnew said..."He sees a line of bull coming.....in this case you can smell it first. I worked for 2 up there and dropped them like a bad habit...and 80% of the rest....(caution opinion coming dangerdanger WillRobinson)....BARF...my school warned us about them BEFORE I graduated....NO 1999 isnt any different than now....trust me, once a lowlife company always a deeper lowlife company....never can recover.
Soooo, just WHO can ya trust?....Welcome to reality boys(glad ya asked), depends if your a strong beleiver in what you hear and if what you hear is too strong to beleive(OMG, my wisdom just alarms meFor example: You come to a fork in the road....a Priest and a Liar is there.....You ask, which way to go is the best? The Liar says "To the right"...the Priest says "To the left my son". Which way is a "shoe-in?" Please deposit $9.99 for a limited time only, in short supply, once in a lifetime, call in the next 10mins, answer.
If you answered without thinking or advise, you will MOST probably end up with one of those up there, if you answered with research and questions to people THAT KNOW then your most likely to have to make a choice, which is better than being mad you made a choice without thinking or advise, and you'll feel better you answered my question right. Advise(and yes printing those pathetic companies "right outta the blue" without been there done that)being given from someone that dont know, shouldnt be given(even tho, hes just tryin to help). Its like a recruit in basic training talkin to a man on the bus HEADED for basic training...I served 12yrs in USNavy...we called them sea lawyers...they advised about things and knew squatola about nothing.
80% of those companies represent schooling as a stimulas write-off....look it up. We need a job to pay bills NOT have bill take our pay. WE all know you dont know who to beleive and what to do with so many choices, so many variables, we only can advise from our experience and on-the-road-witnesses. BE AWARE tho, many drivers will tell ya "Stay away from them and them and them bcause of.........well, you hafta FINALLY grow up and make a decision, no matter how old you are. Collect info for everything, get prepared BEFORE you even graduate OR get to school.
This website is the BEST Ive ever seen for a wealth of information about what to take out there, which Company, what to expect and NOT to expect and the list goes on. I would like to print more but Im just a "Little Pecker" on the keyboard(I spend more time editing than I do typing). But I try to give as much advise for those "TRYING" to compile as much info as soon as they can to be prepared....LIFE-Planning is a close sister to TRIP-Planning....no difference and its smart too(a lost commodity in trucking).

Some companies, well maybe most will only hire u if u went to one of their approved schools. And then you usually have to go thru said " companies" company training. I would say to research companies u might want to work for and then call them to get the details. Alot of companies that r hiring r only hiring in certain areas of the country.
