Will I have to do team driving if I opt for OTR/long haul?

My nephew attended a community college CDL class and got recruited to work for a small local / regional heavy haul company with 10 trucks.

they treat their drivers pretty good ,
For drivers with no experience , they have a 9 months training program , where the newbies ride along as a helper , paid half of what the drivers get paid , so they can learn the

After the drivers have been driving a year or two they let the drivers go to the KW dealer and select the color of the new W-900

Yeah, I hear what you are saying. I'll start watching some backing up videos. ;-) As long as I'm working toward eventually driving solo, that's good to know. And I'd even be ok riding SOMETIMES as a team, after the training period is over. Thanks!
