I dont know the first thing about programming. I just know that a start-up thats only a year old can be valued more then 99% of the trucking outfits out there. But hell, even silicon valley and wall street workers arent safe since big tech wants more indians and wall street trading is being based on computer algorithims instead of human knowledge and action.
Were all rats in a cage!! Maybe we need another hoffa to rise up?
Will industry shortage make automation come sooner

My understanding is fully autonomous vehichles will require 5g wireless.
It turns out the 5g range is not what we expected. We are having issues deploying 5g coverage.
And I know the driver assisting equipment on my truck right now wont work in bad weather.
There are a bevy of issues still in the way.nredfor88, dwells40 and BigDog Trucker Thank this. -

Avg pay in 1980 for a heavy truck driver between 35 to 64 was $25.19/hr. Megas only came into the picture once hoffa was eliminated and the unions were busted. Thats when it became vulture city and the whole cpm became a thing.
