What do the dash marks in-between each setting indicate? What does "max" on the dial turned all the way left do? What's the difference between the defrost setting on the dial and the max defrost button?
Will someone explain the AC controls on the international to me.

The difference between "max ac" and "defrost"
max ac is it runs the ac contest in recirculation and dash vents only
Defrost runs the ac intermittently to dry the air and only thru the windshield vents.
The dashes between are 1/2 steps between the pitcher....straight up pic is vent blowing at your face next pic to the right is blowing at the floor.. the dash between is face AND floor -
There is face, then a dash mark, then face+ floor. The pictures make sense, but the little tick mark in-between doesn't.Gridaxe5588 Thanks this. -

I propose the tick mark between "face and floor" and face is the position where most of the air is vented toward your face and some is vented toward the floor. The tick between "floor and face" and "floor" is where most of the air is vented toward the floor and some toward the face vents.rockeee Thanks this. -
