I'm thinking about enrolling in Swift Trucking Academy but I got a traffic ticket for didn't completely stop on a red light to turn right on May of 2007, and got into an accident in March of 2009 because it was snowing and the road got slippery so I sideswiped another car on a highway, the police gave me a warning.
So with my violations, is it possible that I can get enrolled in their academies? Even if they let me enroll, do I guarantee a job? I'm 22 years old now.
    Thanks.

You posted this last week, didn't you. Didn't you receive a moving violation for the accident? If not, you wee fortunate. I mentioned last week that I had the same exact situations as you and my citations were more recent -the red light in April, '08 and the accident Jan '10. I am headed to Millington to start 2/28; hope my recruiter isn't jerking me around and wasting my time. :biggrin_2554:
Considering the near identical circumstances, I would not think you would have a problem(?).

Call them and ask them. Only way to know for sure. Some companies are going to over look things a little more than others. Your best bet would be to go to the smaller companies. Their insurance is less strict and that's who makes the rules for these large companies.

I dont know what you mean by a moving violation, but the officer gave me a warning, is that a violation, that warning was written on a yellow warning paper, but I dont know if it's considered a moving violation.

Well, I would be going to Swift anyways if they enroll me, even if I dont get a job with them, I can still get a CDL and look for other smaller companies, right?
Would I be working OTR for the smaller companies?

A ticket/citation from your accident would have required you to appear in court, fight it, or sign a guilty waiver and pay the fine. Man, you must have more forgiving law enforcement where you live. The trooper that wrote me up a citation told me, "there was nothing you could do because of the road conditions," right before he wrote my citation. Grrrrrr..

####, my first mistake should have been a warning because it was my first, but the second one I just got a warning for it, even though it was an accident, the road was getting slippery because it was snowing. Heck, the other car that I hit was totaled... And I hit the guardrail which I had to pay for out of my own pocket, $700
The second time I got a warning I was driving a black and white 2004 Ford Crown Victoria Police Intercetper P71, with push bumpers and spotlight, maybe the officer gave me a break because I drove a cop car lol

Why don't you just get a copy of your motor vehicle report and you can see exactly what is there.
