Hey, I would be happy if we could split our break the way we used to. Then I could pull over and sleep until I was ready to get up and not have it screw up my schedule.
Trying to force my body to conform to these rules has led to stress and fatigue for me. I would prefer going back to being rested and relaxed.RockinChair and airforcetoo Thank this. -
new hos wont affect me at all
I been recapping for 3+ weeks now
and always take a 30 minute break or longer -
You're right though . Most drivers I know don't sleep more than 5 or 6 hours . It's more fatiguing for a team driver to wake up and have to stay awake in the sleeper a couple of hours before swapping out . -
In another thread I posted my comment on XRS's Facebook page where they posted this article .
To drive 70 hours in 7 days you'd have to drive 7 10 hour days which would leave no time for any other on duty time . Drive 11 hours a day for 6 days that's 66 hours and more than 4 hours is needed just for inspections and fueling . -
you can drive more than 70hrs in 7 days

It will mean more of you running team.

The new rules as I see it is just another thorn in the side. It will mean more trucks on the road, less driver pay, but more drivers. Much higher congestion, more accidents, and rougher roads. The 14 hour rule needs to go away allowing drivers to drive up to 11 hours in the 24 hour period. Giving them the ability to rest during peak congestion, go back to helping damsels in distress, and just enjoying the job again. And if you could eliminate the 70 wouldn't hurt either.lilrich and Lone Ranger 13 Thank this.
