Will the new medical card replace the old one? Do I have to submit it to DMV?

I went to get a physical, me pulled my prescription medicine, which I was no longer taking , ambiam, diet pills, sub oxen, she filled that in the space that asked what CURRENT medicine your on. Placed me on determination pending, my current medical card was expiring in 5 days, I went to a second place and got a two year card, I didn't write down the medication, I also contacted my DR letting them know I will know longer be needed the medication, found out he was out of town, but still made sure it was known I'm no longer on this medication, do I need to worry about anything,
