OK got an offer from a NC company O/O that has 33 tractors, 90 days solo then come back in to run team. Will this qualify me as a left seat driver running team to get more experience as they don't count training as solo even though you are running miles over the road and getting paid. Hard to get 1 year in to go to other jobs to qualify. Why is trucking so hard to get going.
Will this qualify me

A left seat driver? As opposed to a right seat driver? Either I am not awake yet or your post is a little confusing. So you are going to run for 90 days as a solo driver and then they will let you run as a team? Whether you are running as a solo driver or a team driver as long as you are behind the wheel of a tractor trailer are over the road and are legally logging your activities then you are accruing time behind the wheel as experience. This should count as experience anywhere you go as long as it is verifiable.

i'm just glad he didn't say,
"left wing"
or
"right wing".......... -
chompi, this is what the recruiter called when I was seeking employment, and why would this be different than driving with a trainer.
-
I don't think it should matter. Any amount of driving time should count.
-
right seat..........co-driver of a team.
obviously, the recruiter hasn't seen the inside of a truck, much less know it's seating arrangements.........or terminology....... -
Thanks Guys

"Trucking is hard to get going" because a trucking company puts you in charge of over $100,000 of equipment (with high value loads in the trailer)... they trust you to run down the US highways where, your mistakes, could possibly kill or injure dozens of people.
Thousands of new drivers wash out because they can't handle the lifestyle or the equipment. They cause millions of dollars in damage due to their unsafe driving...
That's why "trucking is so hard to get going"... -
exp is exp regardless keep track of you miles that you drive (keep all your log book) just remember the first year is the hardest.

Trucking aint hard to get into lol, its about the easiest thing ever. Once you have a year or so in, youll know for the rest of year life a new job is only a few days and a phone call away. Pay your dues, put your time in, and a year from now youll be laughing about this.
