If an insurance carrier dings you like that even not at fault you did something wrong. My sister had a rate increase many years ago because the insurance company discovered her daughter was driving her car during school hours. My niece was driving her car to see the doctor that morning. A guy rn a light and hit her. Outside of you violating a coverage rule if they ding you, they are a bad company and you need to find a more reputable carrier. Oh, one more thing, that term is NOT DOT-Reportable, the correct term is DOT-Recordable. NO reports are made, the carrier has to make an entry to their accident register.
Will two non fault accidents impact my driving record

It's called a SAFE driver discount.
I lost it because I was INVOLVED in an accident... -
I'm sorry if you did NOTHING wrong. Did nothing that contributed to that accident. Was not in some situation that was counter to your coverage, there is no logical reason for you to lose that safe driver discount. However, in my last 2 years in Georgia, I was insured by GEICO insurance and was heavily discounted because of Driving Record and location of my residence. I can see where, as you say a "discount" is taken for involvement because some eggheads think a safe driver should be able to avoid accidents. I lost every one of my discounts when I moved to Virginia and told GEICO to stick it! NOW I can't operate any vehicle. It's a dang shame your carrier did that. I would, however, shop around.

I think you are OK. Thankfully the circumstances are OBVIOUS and in your favor.
