I wasn't feeling tired at the start of the 3 hours, but after 3 hours I couldn't keep my eyes open, so I stopped, hence the next sentence in my post.

I urge all of you to think of this: If(God forbid) you kill someone on the Highway or Big Road-accidents of course do happen- but if you were driving tired to make an appointment or over HOS-and if a member of the person which was killed were to ask you;'Why did my wife/daughter/son/ whoever have to die'..And YOU were at fault..What are YOU going to tell them? My dispatcher 'TOLD ME' or I 'Wanted an extra $200 on this paycheck'...Really..I'm being sincere here. Think about it..There are NO Do-Overs on the highway...

If you weren't sleepy, then why do you need the energy drinks?

Oh ya! I'm talking to the only truck driver that has never drove sleepy! Lol

Words of wisdom to live by but you know as well as I do ppl know the consequenses to driving tired and that's the risk they take.Nothing you can say will change that.

Whether on the road or at home, I find I can typically get by on 5 to 6 hours sleep per night for about a week, then my body will finally crash and I'll get a solid 8 to 9 hours sleep.

50 miles isn't far for what I consider sleepy, it's not I can't keep my eyes open and I'm not getting into The Special Olympics event of arguing on the interweb.

Same with me.....I can never be in the sleeper for more than 5 to 6 hours.
Even my first night home at the end of the week i don't sleep real well.....usually the second night i sleep a good 8 to 9 hours.
