This made me laugh I work for Houff and I can assure you that you better have thick skin to work there. I'm not saying they curse you but they certainly only care about one thing and that's moving freight.

I also drive for Houff and am home every weekend. Pay is great just got big raise last year and all the new trucks do have the bells and whistles....by end of next year all road drivers (home every weekend) will have a truck about 3 years old or newer all Volvo and freightliners with automatic transmission. I've been here almost 5 years and you need tough skin but once your used to it you'll do fine...

Supervalu has a terminal in Mechanicsville, VA. I work for them in PA, 80 grand a year (more or less, depending on how willing you are to work), free insurance, and home every day. The hours stink (don't be afraid of night driving like some of the members here), but all in all its a good place to be.

80K a year?!?! There's not much I wouldn't do for that much. I have no problem driving at night whatsoever. Sounds like a pretty good gig. I'll look into it for future reference.
For now I'm 90% sure I'm going with Averitt for this dedicated east coast routes that will get me home 1-2 days a week. It's still better than what I'm doing now with Swift and especially after I put in a hometime out in WA for Tuesday and they have me delivering near Denver late Tuesday night. I'm not too picky on hometime but when I have appointments and my job gets me home many days after what I scheduled, it's time to look elsewhere.
Thanks for all the info everyone. -
We can always use the people for the dedicated account if it's the same one that I think your talking about. Oh and I did find out, it's not all night driving as well... Just depends on the delivery time. but so far, most of the runs seem to be during the day.
Also, if you willing... They seem to have some New York runs (not sure where) that people don't want to take, so you might have a leg up so-to-speak, if your willing to run those.DocWatson Thanks this.
